Karen Lai works as a consultant with businesses and organizations to increase the accessibility and inclusion of people with disabilities. Currently, she supports the work of many organizations and businesses to ensure that individuals with diverse backgrounds feel included, valued, and have a strong sense of community belonging. Karen is a strong self-advocate where she facilitates workshops on deepening the connections between one another, resulting in an inclusive and accessible community.
She holds a Masters of Arts in Human Kinetics where she examined the social theories behind social inclusion of people with disabilities. To complement this, she has more than 20 years of working alongside with individuals with disabilities in the field of recreation, employment, government, and other community involvements.
