Isha is a recent graduate of the Masters of Community Planning Program at Vancouver Island University. Isha brings her past work in homeless shelters and an undergraduate in Health and Community Services to her new role as a Social Health and Well-Being Planner with Urban Matters. Her focus is on bringing a Social Determinants of Health lens to the work to ensure that our communities grow equitably, collaboratively and with consideration for well-being.
On the weekends, Isha likes gardening, sauntering around forests and beaches, and sharing meals with friends and family. At her core, Isha describes herself as a wicked problem-solver. She loves the challenge of tackling the big questions for our communities like Reconciliation, health equity, poverty, mental wellness, and food security and it’s what motivates her and keeps her engaged. Isha is excited to join Urban and apply her skills and knowledge to tackling such problems with a team of other enthusiastic people to make a difference for communities.
